Since February 2024, Community Strategising about Psychedelic Therapy in Aotearoa built connections between leading research teams, ceremony holders, harm reduction practitioners, policy experts, spiritual leaders, healthcare providers and others, to advance opportunities for the safe, accessible, ethical, accountable, and effective use of psychedelics in health and healing in Aotearoa. Having laid the groundwork, looking ahead we want to build the infrastructure required for a flourishing ecosystem. Aotearoa has a unique opportunity to develop psychedelic therapies in a very unique way to the rest of the World, one that honours Te Tiriti o Waitangi and places mātauranga Māori, tikanga, whānau wellbeing, and collective responsibility at the centre. Your support helps ensure Indigenous voices are not consulted after decisions are made, but are helping shape the future from the beginning.
Every donation counts
Gifts at every level
$50 connects researchers, community members, and others at a facilitated hui for discussions on a local level.
$100 supports travel assistance for consultation with local groups, overcoming barriers to inclusion for local healthcare professionals and change-makers.
$500 funds stakeholder engagement towards the production of a culturally grounded resource - a tikanga-based guidance document for ceremony holders, a Māori-specific harm reduction guide, or a bilingual explainer for whānau navigating these medicines outside formal systems.
$1,000 funds a regional stakeholder hui - bringing together stakeholder groups in one room to share knowledge, build trust, and shape local responses to psychedelic therapy. We have run eight of these. Each new one will change the conversation in that rohe.
$5,000 funds a targeted research output - supporting Māori researchers, facilitating focus groups with lived experience communities, or contributing to our forthcoming position statement on risks, opportunities, and challenges in psychedelic therapy in Aotearoa.
