Why are we fundraising
One in five children in Aucklands low-decile schools suffers from a treatable vision problem, yet most have no idea they cannot see clearly. As the University of Auckland Shanghai Alumni Club, we are rallying together this Giving Day on 30 June to power the Vision Bus Aotearoa. This mobile eye clinic travels directly to under-resourced schools, delivering free eye tests and glasses to children who would otherwise go without. By bridging the distance between Shanghai and New Zealand, our global alumni community can directly transform a child's education, health, and future.

A quick update and heartfelt thank you for supporting the Shanghai Alumni Club's Giving Day fundraiser for the Vision Bus Aotearoa. Thanks to your generosity, we've already raised 350 and are now just 150 away from our 500 goal With Giving Day on 30th June less than a week away, donations are still being matched dollar for dollar, helping us make an even greater impact for children who need access to eye care.
