Why are we fundraising

The Auckland MBA Alumni Association (AMBAA) advocates for lifelong growth by offering a space where current MBA candidates and alumni come together to deepen their knowledge, broaden their perspectives, strengthen their professional networks, and give back to the alumni community. We believe every person deserves the opportunity to learn and grow, and we are proud to support the Vision Bus Aotearoa. One in five children has a treatable vision problem, and most have no idea. The bus provides fully funded, comprehensive eye examinations and eye care services directly to schools and communities that need them most, removing cost and distance as obstacles to good health. Good vision enables children to learn, play sports, and engage with the world around them with confidence. The Vision Bus Aotearoa provides follow-up care to school children (years 0-13) who have failed the vision screening service delivered by the School of Optometry and Vision Science, ensuring our tamariki have a fair chance at learning and independence. Eyecare services are also provided to residents of the Mangere Refugee Centre, with additional partnerships planned with Auckland maraes, GP practices, and residential care facilities.
